The Fighter's Guild of the Larp Alliance
Welcome to the Fighter's Guild's official website. We are a Larp Alliance resource for the Live Combat LARPer. We focus on safety, training, and sportsmanship within this area of the hobby.
What is Live Combat LARP?
Live Combat L.A.R.P. is Live Action Role Play that involves a physical resolution of combat rather than an abstract one, for instance, using a simulated weapon (ie, a foam sword or nerf gun) to engage in improvised physical combat with an opponent. The more popular Live Combat implement is generally a simulated medieval weapon, such as a sword, axe, or bludgeon, and this form of implement may be supplemented with other simulated objects, like projectiles in the form of foam rocks, arrows, javelins, spells or "nerf" guns. This is different from Theatre-Style LARP which uses rock-paper-scissors, stat cards, or any other method that doesn't use a physical striking implement. To learn more about LARP, go to the LARP Alliance, Inc. Main Website.
How do I get involved with the Fighter's Guild?
Involvement with the Fighter's Guild is not only easy, it's also free. The purpose of the Fighter's Guild is to get people involved in and comfortable with Live Combat LARP. In order to achieve this, we not only help to run fighter practices, the means by which you get better at live combat through regular practice, but also how to obtain or create your own safe and suitable weapons for games. The Fighter's Guild provides resources to prospective and active gamers, as well as game owners who need more people to play or assist in their events (ie: NPC armies for epic battles or just run-of-the-mill "crunchies" aka groups of creature challenges). Additionally, the Fighter's Guild helps make gamers safer in game and more well-educated in game mechanics. At the end of this site, you can be directed to more links that will help you get involved in more games and local fighter practices, as well as other Guild functions.
